AI visibility

Do AI assistants find your website?

We check whether the crawlers of ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google reach your start page and can read it. With an account we ask the models themselves and look into Google's AI Overviews.

We check robots.txt, the answer to AI crawlers, snippet rules, text without JavaScript, structured data, sitemap and llms.txt.

What do AI models say about you?

With an account you set up prompts and keywords and see whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overviews name your brand, regularly if you like.

The guide to AI visibility

What the findings mean and how to fix them, in the same categories as the report. Or straight to a topic:

What does AI visibility check?

The technique, free and without an account: does robots.txt let the search agents of AI services in, does a firewall rule still keep them out, do snippet rules exclude the page from AI Overviews, is the content in the HTML without JavaScript, and does structured data say who runs the site.

The answers of the models, with an account: bytereport puts your prompts through the providers' interfaces, counts how often and in which position your brand is named, and which sources the models cite. Answers through the interface resemble those of the app but are not the same.

The search engines, with an account: for your keywords bytereport looks through a provider of search results whether Google shows an AI Overview and whether your site is cited in it. Every query costs credits; before each run you see how many.
